Essential Learning: Matching the community helper with their tools.

fireman: hydrant, firetruck, hose, hat
painter: paintbrush, roller, ladder
dentist: toothbrush, floss, tooth
mail carrier: package, mailbox, mail bag
cashier: money, cash register, groceries
teacher: pencil, books, scissors
construction worker: hammer, tape measure, wrench
gardener: watering can, rake, shovel
police officer: car, flash light, badge
plumber: drill, plunger, pliers
doctor: ear scope, stethoscope, needle/syringe
chef: measuring cups, pan, rolling pin,

Proficiency:

Students will be able to name 10/12 community helpers and will be able to match these community helpers with one tool.

"Assessment":

Can you find me a community helper? What do you call this person? What tool might this person use for their job?

Successes: Added pictures; every center has something to do with community helpers; intentional about role playing; use of props; invited real community helpers; field trip to children's museum;
